Costco's New Heat-and-Eat Dinner Duo Is Grandma-Approved

Some foods pair well—peanut butter and jelly, bacon and eggs, macaroni and cheese, bagels and cream cheese. Maybe the most dramatic meal pair ever: meatloaf and mashed potatoes.

I need mashed potatoes to cook meatloaf for my family. I wouldn't eat meatloaf without mashed potatoes, so I'm good with disobedience.

My family prefers Rempel Family Meatloaf, so I double the recipe and freeze one unbaked loaf for tonight. I like meatloaf, but not mixing my hands in cold ground beef.

You can buy a heat-and-eat meatloaf and mashed potato box at Costco if you love it but don't like preparing it.

It's not new, but Costco's meatloaf and mashed potato combo is receiving some love on social media as we move from summer to autumn dinners.

For days you don't want to cook or don't have time, Costco's deli makes a fast, excellent meal. Just add a green veggie (frozen veggies that steam in their bags are OK) and you're done.

The pair costs $3.99 per pound and $16 each bundle at Costco. With veggies, four pounds of meatloaf and mashed potatoes (give or take an ounce or two) should serve four people.

The meatloaf has a tomato-style “signature glaze” and huge butter pats on the mashed potatoes, resembling Costco's loaded mashed potatoes.

“This is one of our favorite Costco meals,” a Costcobuys follower said. Another replied, “We had meatloaf and mashed potatoes tonight. It was tasty.”

I bought this meatloaf for my granny today and she liked it. It seemed little, but I didn't know how thick the meatloaf is, so we had plenty and she had leftovers for two meals, remarked Redditor.

“Great for prepared meatloaf. One thread participant commented, "It's a winter staple at my house." Dinner for one may last “4-5 meals,” according to another.

Naturally, some said handmade was superior, and I agree. These look like a good option for meatloaf and mashed potatoes without cold ground beef.
