In an October 18 news release, Aldi offered significant reductions on over 70 Thanksgiving staples and products to save families money. The supermarket chain's president said the firm realizes how hard Thanksgiving is for families.
"With inflation still looming, we're providing shoppers extra comfort to make the holidays a time for celebration, not stress ... Aldi offers big savings on key items so there's always room for more guests."
On November 1, Aldi will discount Thanksgiving staples like mashed potatoes, gravy, and pumpkin pie by 50%. Aldi has 2,313 outlets in the U.S., serving over 30 million consumers monthly.
Over 90% of Americans eat Thanksgiving with family. Since inflation keeps prices up, many families may not be able to host all their visitors.
The Farm Bureau said that last year's dinner average cost $64.05, about $20 more than the previous year due to rising supermarket basic pricing. Many expect turkey and cranberry sauce prices to rise again this year.
Aldi has given Christmas consumers financial aid before. As inflation rose, the business matched hundreds of Christmas staples to 2019 pricing last year to give discounts.
Aldi will discount baking and charcuterie again this year. The press announcement offers $1 off butter and more than $2 off brie cheeses and brioche bread.
